A few months back I posted a video in which an actress, Amy Walker, does a little tour of 21 accents. In the meantime, it seems that this video has become a 'viral smash hit' - very popular on the internet due to the 'viral' effect of people linking to the video - with almost 1,4 million views! Here it is again in all its glory:
Seeing this prompted me to look for other examples of English accents and dialects to show off the huge range to be found around the world. I've tried to find short examples, as I must admit that I also have difficulty understanding a number of these accents / dialects:
Caribbean English:
Australian Accent:
Map of American English Dialects:
Welsh Accents:

Hello Kenneth,
It's great to be able to hear a huge variety of English accents. I
wonder which accents English learners found most difficult to
understand?
Rob.

Hi Kenneth,
What a good idea to have have all these accents together! My
brother-in-law is Scottish...
I can't understand him when we have conversations! Of course there
are variations to the Scottish accent depending on region!
