How to make Google your English Teacher (Part 4)

Google
is a very popular search engine, but did you know that it could
also serve as a Tutor? Click here to

If you come across a word or phrase and you are unsure as to how the word is used, may I suggest that you research the word using Google? Google has released some new options that will help you understand its meaning by showing the word in context and in a variety of ways. Allow me to show you what I mean…
1. Go to Google and search a term that you might be confused about. For example, let us search the word “multiculturalism.”
2. When the results are returned, you may notice the “Show options” link. Click that link.
3. A sidebar of links will appear with more options to refine your search.
A.) By clicking the “Videos” link, you will discover videos where the word “multiculturalism” is mentioned in the title (or description) of the video.
B.) By clicking the “Forums” link, you will discover online forums that mention the word “multiculturalism” in their online conversations.
C. ) By clicking the “Reviews” link, you will discover links to products (or services) that have been reviewed and mention the word “multiculturalism” in their review.
D.) You can also refine the search results to items that have been posted online over the past 24 hours, up to the past year.
E.) By clicking “Images from the page,” you will see pictures from pages that have mentioned “multiculturalism.”
F.) By clicking “more text,” you will see more text in the search results.
G.) By clicking “Related Searches,” you will discover a list of searches that people have done on Google while also looking for information on the word “multiculturalism.”
H.) By clicking “wonderwheel,” you will see an image of the word “multiculturalism”with links to words and phrases that are related to “multiculturalism.”
I.) By clicking “Timeline,” you will find links to newsstories that mention the word “multiculturalism” and how popular the word has been over the past decade.

Thanks Jim! I didn't know it! It's so helpful.
I usually use www.wordreference.com it's so good to
translate or just look some word up.
It has several diferent lenguages, you can also search synonyms and
antonyms of any word. Besides, there is a forum where you can ask
to native people about some idioms or get some examples about any
word.
Anyway, Google is also a good way to learn any language, as I can see!
