New Year's Considerations

It's that time of year. No, I don't mean Christmas time, rather I'm talking about the New Year. It's time for those New Year's resolutions. Resolutions are all of those things we promise to ourselves when we resolve to do this and that as we look forward to the coming year. However, before I scheme about the future I like to reflect upon the past: What has transpired over this past year? Which resolutions have I met, and how have I come up short on those I did not meet? In short, not only is New Year's a good time to look forward to things to come, but also to take stock of where we are at in life. As we pause to consider such heavy thoughts, it's good to keep in mind how the rest of the world has fared.

Making Resolutions

to make a resolution

to promise something to ourselves

to resolve to do something

to look forward to doing something

to scheme about the future

Meeting Resolutions

to transpire

to meet / not meet a resolution

to come up short on something

to fare

Considering Resolutions

to reflect upon / on the past

to consider

to keep in mind

to take stock of something

I agree that the end of the year is a good time for reflection. I've heard it's best to do it everyday, but time moves funny day by day. Not until all the days are gone do we realize they passed!

I had a lot of big changes this year, including starting a life on EnglishCafe.

In the future, I hope to continue my battle with procrastination and win a few more fights.

This time of year is a good time for reflexions, looking back for what we acheived.
Also we have to be aware time don't wait us, it flyes without our permision...So, we have to make clear what we want for next year and take action .... it sounds simple.?....but we have the strenght
to make it that way, don't we?

Best wishes for 2010!

Love your life for all the life redicovered through the eyes of your children!

I'm not sure it's simple, but I think you're right about the plan of action.

Thank you for your wishes, and best wishes to you as well for the new year of the next decade.
