Would you shout love out loud?

Love really takes to the air in Tokyo once a year, when dozens of Japanese shout out their ardor for spouses, partners -- and even themselves -- at an event "Love Your Wife Day" on January 31, took place at the Hibiya Park in central Tokyo, co-hosted by a citizen group dedicated to devoted husbands.
Japanese have traditionally valued modesty and reticence over outspokenness, but they wanted to say that didn't mean they were unromantic.
Most of the 30 or so participants took to the stage, yelling, "I love you" or "Let me be with you!"
According to the report, most people who have a special someone in their lives thought the "Love Message Yelling Event" helped give relationships a boost. Other participants said they found the event emotionally liberating.
If you had the chance to go onto the stage, would you shout love to someone? How would you feel if someone shouted love to you in public? For me, I think I like such words in private, with sincere eye contact under a romantic ambiance more though.
Valentine's Day is coming soon, wish all of my friends are happily with their love.

There is a "tradition" to serenade the woman you love from outside her window. I put it in quotation marks because I don't know if anyone every really does/did it, but you can see it in movies often.
Here is an example from a movie called Mr. Fix It. I haven't seen this movie, but I might now ;)
You can also watch this clip on netlog.
I think there is something powerful about making your love public.
I think that is why many people still have wedding ceremonies even
though they aren't religious. I would be very shy to shout it out,
but, like you said, it might be a liberating feeling.

Shelly,
I had never heard of "Love your wife day" prior to your post. At my church we are having a "Renew Your Love Day," where our Pastor will give married couples an opportunity to renew their vows. It promises to be a very romantic time. I think I will share your post with them.
Thanks for sharing!

I couldn't see the video. It said it was private.
Did you renew your vows at church?

Hi Shelley,
I've never heard of this tradition before, so thanks for sharing. :-)
I think this is definitely a very nice tradition, and I can sense its importance especially because of the Japanese culture in particular and what they value.
Happy Belated Valentine to you too, Shelley!

Hello Shelley,
What a fascinating event! I suppose it is a very good way to get
those emotions out and doing so is probably beneficial for their
health.

Hi Shelly
I feel so proud that he said it in public, I can say that was so
wonderful :D.
Sweet!
I think it's also a culture difference. I remember when we lived in
China, one day my hubby and I were told by a four-star hotel's
manager not to sit together in ONE sofa so closely. >

As an opera singer, I never had problems shouting my love for my
wife out loud.
:-D You have the reason, Kenneth!

As an opera singer, I never had problems shouting my love for my wife out loud. However, I usually sing about it ...
I like the idea of this event, it's one that would be great to copy.

Hi Shelly
I like that the people can express themselves them emotions, even though maybe I´m not the person who wants to show to everybody my feelings, I think similar than you, I love details, so, I like to think in do something special for that special man, when I have one, but I can say that I remember something pretty cute that my ex did for me, when we were in a conference talking about design cause both of us are designers, so, he told something really nice about that he said that it´s pretty cool to share the tast for design. I feel a little shame, but I feel so proud that he said it in public, I can say that was so wonderful :D.
