Many students are strong in some skill areas but weak in others. If there are some specific skills that you want to work on, the GlobalEnglish service can help you.

The GlobalEnglish service is designed to let you sharpen your skills in speaking, listening, reading, pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary.

Speaking

Focus on speaking: Practice your communication skills in a variety of business and everyday situations. This will increase your confidence in your speaking ability.

  • Exciting record-and-playback technology lets you record your voice and play it back. Then you can compare yourself to a native speaker.
  • Practice speaking with one of our live teachers in an online classroom. All of our teachers are native English speakers, and they are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can ask them for feedback on your speaking.

Pronunciation

Focus on pronunciation: Learn how to make all of the sounds of English and use our record-and-playback technology to practice your pronunciation.

  • You will receive recommendations for specific activities to help you with the sounds that are often difficult for speakers of your native language.
  • Talk with one of our teachers. All of our teachers are native speakers of English, and they are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can ask them to give you feedback on your pronunciation.

Listening

Focus on listening: Listen to native English speakers having conversations. Improve your skills so you'll understand even when someone speaks quickly.

  • Listen to native speakers discuss a variety of topics. In some activities, you can slow down their speech if you have trouble understanding them.
  • Practice your listening skills by joining a conversation with other students and a teacher. All of our teachers are native English speakers, and they are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Grammar

Focus on grammar: Learn new grammar or review grammar points that are difficult for you.

  • Practice with more than 160 grammar activities on a variety of structures, like verb tenses and conditional sentences.
  • Learn how to use new grammar structures.

Vocabulary

Focus on vocabulary: Build your vocabulary so that you can communicate with confidence.

  • Learn new words on a variety of topics, like careers or technology.
  • Create your own personal word list and review the words with our Flash Card Challenge.
  • Use our online dictionary to look up translations for words.

Reading

Focus on reading: Improve your reading skills so you can read all kinds of material--articles, emails, reports, and more.

  • Practice with engaging reading activities that present real business documents like product descriptions, catalogs, and emails.
  • Read interesting articles in GlobalEnglish Magazine.
